On our most recent email blast we have a large number of emails bounce. This coincides with our switch over to Sendgrid from Mailgun.
What is the best practice here? Is there any sort of automation to not send to these email addresses on our next newsletter?
Thanks!

Re: Large number of bounced emails
If you followed all of the instructions when connecting your new SMTP account, your "event notifications" will automatically mark all invalid emails as such in your AllProWebTools CRM. Emails marked as invalid will not be attempted (to send) on future email blasts. Here is a video that will help:

Yeah, it is set up correctly for even notifications, and the customers who got bounces all seem to have the red circle next to their email which I think means it's invalid.
Is there anything I need to do when scheduling the blast to make sure there is no attempt on these addresses? Does that have anything to do with active vs inactive customers? (Still not sure what the active vs inactive means...)

Re: Large number of bounced emails
If an email is marked as inactive (red circle), AllProWebTools will not try to send it again. There is nothing else that you need to do.
Active vs inactive is just a marker that you can use for internal purposes, some of our users use it to show the status of their memberships.

Re: Large number of bounced emails
Wow, so I'm discovering that Sendgrid may be problematic. It appears that what were shown as "bounces" in APWT were actually blocks. Mainly Hotmail (live.com) blocking the shared IP address that Sendgrid uses. So basically every hotmail email is now marked inactive in APWT. That is 1000 or so contacts and we need a solution for that.
So, two questions:
1. If we go to the APWT SMPT server will we get our own dedicated IP address? When comparing pricing APWT is more expensive that companies that use a shared IP, but as soon as we have to pay for a dedicated IP, APWT is the best price out there.
2. Can we reset the inactive emails?

APWT-SMTP does not offer a dedicated IP. Is there a reason that you need one?
Yes, we can reset your email addresses once you have found an SMTP service that will suit your needs.

Re: Large number of bounced emails
My understanding is with a dedicated IP our reputation is fully dependent on our own sends, and not other users who share the IP address. I'll talk to Sendgrid about why all our hotmail sends got blocked. I do not think it is due to anything we were doing, they show our reputation as being "100%". But in the logs I can see live.com's response that the IP we are sending from is blocked.
I'll let you know when we are ready for the reset.

Re: Large number of bounced emails
Dave, I can't get an answer from Sendgrid and I suspect it will be that we need to purchase a dedicated IP. That costs quite a bit more than the APWT SMPT service, so I would like to give you guys a try with this first and see how it goes.
What's the next step? I do not have the "register" button on my email setting page, and you have our DNS settings as well.
