Blog grid image issue

Post by Steve173 »

Hi! Wondering if all the issues with blog image sizing are known issues with version 5.2? Just posted a new blog and followed the same image sizing as our previous blogs. Blog header image sizing 848 X 465 however this clearly displays larger than previous blogs with the same size. Also on our Blog page with our "grid of blogs" the image on the newly posted blog also displays significantly larger than the rest. How do I fix this? Or will all these sizing issues actually display correctly once we our upgraded to version 5.4?

Examples of images that are both 848 X 465 the edit blog image dimensions

This issue has been addressed in version 5.4. You are currently on version 5.2. Your account will be upgraded on Monday.

ok...will the corrections automatically take place once upgraded? Or do we have to go back and correct? If it does not auto fix how long has this been a known issue so we can figure out how many blogs need addressing?

It looks like all the images in your blog grid are uploaded at a size of 389x213 pixels. The larger image has been uploaded at a size of 389x259 pixels. This is why it is appearing larger than the others. It is important that sizing the image is done in a photo editing application before uploading to ensure sizing is consistent.

Where do i find this sizing info showing 389 X 213? I've looked at the image file in "manage images and files" and none of the images we are using in our blog grid have a size of 389 X 213....I've looked at our 10 most recent blogs and there are two image files for each image....one image is the original size that was uploaded and the second image is 373 X 205. Where do you see 389 X 213?

Sorry, I was referring to the size of the image that is being rendered by the browser.

As you said, there are two image files for each image except the one that is appearing larger than the others.
All of the image previews on this page: https://www.realnoni.com/Blog/ are sized 848x465 in the Manage Images and Files directory. See screenshot below.

The image that appears slightly larger and has a size of 1800x1199. And there is no 2nd file with the proper size of 848x465. See screenshot below.

Yes that is correct...all images have two files except the most recent one. We are just trying to figure out what size the image needs to be before we reload it....so if i make a second image that is resized to 848X465 and use that image the sizing issue on the grid will be fixed, correct? Or do I need to also upload an image sized 373x205?

To match the other images in the blog grid, it should be sized at 848X465
