Testimonial submission

Post by Steve173 »

Hi!
Customers used to be able to submit a testimonial on our website and we cannot find this section any where. It used to give them a drop down menu where they could select "general testimonial" or select from the drop down the specific product to leave a testimonial on. Now we can only find a button at the bottom of each review page however it only lets them review that specific product....how did customers used to access the other submission page?

Here is the page that you are looking for: https://realnoni.com/submit-testimonial.php.

This feature has been deprecated and is still available, but no longer supported. We recommend creating your own custom web form and creating a page for testimonial submissions. Here is a video that shows how to create a custom signup box (webform):

You will then create a new webpage and place the token for the signup box on the page. This is explained at the 8 minute point of this video: https://youtu.be/1Hf-xgl4_08?t=480

The advantage of creating your own custom webform is that you have greater control over what information is collected and you can automate actions to be taken after a submission is made. This is done with Marketing Campaigns as explained in this video:

A few questions:
1) I tried to create a sign up box and created a custom text input field however it is restricting to 255 characters....this is not going to work as on avg most of our current testimonials well exceed this. How do we allow the customer to enter their entire testimonial without such a small character limit?

2) How do we link the sign up box submission to our website > testimonials section in our console? This is where all our previous/current testimonials are stored and organized.

3) How do we get the drop down menu with of all our products and a "general testimonial" option like our previous submission page that disappeared from our website?

1. You can use the "comment box" for longer text submissions. You can rename the comment box to anything that you like as shown here:

2. When someone fills out your sign up box, you will see the results in the workflow timeline. You can filter the workflow timeline to show only lead box submissions with the button shown here:

3. This video explains how to create custom fields to be added to your sign up box:

Hi Kathlein...we still need help with question 2. How do we link the sign up box submission to our website > testimonials section in our console? This is where all our previous/current testimonials are stored and organized.

Your response just has to filter the workflow timeline which is not where our testimonial data is stored. if you got to website >testimonials you will find where this data is stored. With creating a sign up box how will the customers testimonial data be added to the AllProWebTools website> testimonial feature ?

This video shows how to enter a new testimonial from the console:

This is an older feature which is being deprecated so this video will look much different, but the menu items and buttons are generally the same.

Hi! We are not trying to write a testimonial our self.....maybe I've really confused you. What we are needing is for a customer to be able to submit their testimonial on our website and then have the testimonial appear in the website> testimonial> so that we can then approve or deny it for being displayed on our website. We are not trying to write a testimonial, we have customers wanting to and they used to have a box to do this on our website and we would then get an alert to our "notifications" and we would go to website> testimonial and either approve or deny.....this option submission page that they used to use has disappeared.....

I was able to find the page that you are looking for, it does not look like it has disappeared. It is located here: Here is the page that you are looking for: https://realnoni.com/submit-testimonial.php.

Hi Brad!
Yes that is the page the testimonial buttons used to link to....the testimonial buttons are all missing from our pages...plus the testimonial submission page you found if you click on the drop down menu for which product would you like to review the drop down menu is completely blank....it used to list "All products" as an option and then list every single one of our products as an option for a person to select from....how do we get the drop down menu to display the options again?

Perhaps this is the page that you are looking for: https://realnoni.com/add-review.php

If you fill out the form, the data is entered directly into the testimonial system.

Hi Kathlein! No that is the product review page that a customer can click on the specific product page and it submits the review for that product. You will notice this page has no drop down menu of products to select from. When you submit a review on this page it actually goes directly to store> "product reviews" not the website> "testimonial" section. The page we are looking for is the testimonial page Brad found however the drop down menu is completely blank?

I can see at the top of the page here: https://realnoni.com/add-review.php that there is a dropdown list that has all of your products. It is the very first dropdown on the page at the very top - it is labeled "Product:"
I have also confirmed (by filling out the form myself) that it submits the information to the Testimonial system in your console.

Hi Noah!
That is actually our product review page....anything submitted there goes into "store"> "product reviews" not "website"> "testimonials"

Hi noah! Just re-tried and you are correct it is working...funny thing I tried this yesterday and it went to the product reviews guess it fixed itself :) So can we continue to use this review submit page or do we have to create our own custom web form and creating a page for testimonial submissions as Kathlein said this page is not supported any longer?

If your customer is looking at a product and then clicks to review that product, the system knows what product it is that they want to review and therefore does not offer the dropdown box.
