Invalid phone number accepted in sign up box

I have a landing page with a sign up box that includes a phone number and email to execute a marketing campaign,
However, one client was able to submit a phone number of "0" and it was accepted into the contact field making the text messages part of the marketing campaign rendered useless as the rest of the campaign still goes off as usual (as long as they entered a valid email address...),
Potential leads and sign ups miss out on valuable information when this happens, I don't think they should be allowed to submit a phone number (or any string of numbers less than 10) before the sign up box allows them to submit. I do believe this may be a bug
