Is a shortcode that automatically updates to the latest year, from my understanding, and it works,
except when I put it in the footer of a website.
I've tried adding this shortcode in its own <div> and in a <p> but still it only displays the text and not the year 2020
I've left it commented out for now but I would like to know if there is a solution to this issue

Re: Shortcode not working in footer
The tokens are meant to be used in WYSIWYG editors, like the one found by going to "Settings" -> "Website" -> "Edit Footer".
It appears that you are not using our WYSIWYG footer and are using a custom theme where the footer is hard coded HTML. You can access the hard coded HTML footer from the main menu at "Settings" -> "Administrator" -> "Footer"
