Default Tax Preset

Post by Tim117 »

Since we're using APWT in a retail environment now instead of eCommerce as it was originally designed, we don't check in our customers with a physical address (it would take too long, and tax tables wouldn't represent them correctly if they're not 80525); could you add an option to select a tax preset and set it as the default?

We will certainly consider this for future versions. If anyone else would like to be able to change what the default tax preset is when creating an order, let us know below.

This feature is becoming more and more crucial, we're running into bugs where you'll select the correct Tax Preset and Calculate shipping/tax and it won't add tax in randomly on jobs, about 75% of the time it works but it seems like that script that runs just fails to run.

Just to confirm, this is what it sounds like you're saying. Sometimes tax is not added to an order, but this only happens when you change the tax preset, and even then it only happens about 25% of the time.

And again, just to confirm, you are making sure to click "Calculate Tax" after changing the tax preset, correct?

Just to clarify, we change the tax preset from Customer Information to one we've created named Default (Which is 7.4% for State/City/County) every transaction, when you hit Calculate Tax (required before you can hit create order), it calculates and inserts tax about 75% of the time, where as 25% of the time it just skips adding the tax lines.
