How to remove automatic spacing

Post by Stephanieo2940 »

Is there a way to remove automatic spacing between paragraphs from my website builder, blog post builder, and email builder?

Whenever I copy and paste anything into it, it automatically adds extra spacing between paragraphs, thus requiring me to reformat every single paragraph manually - which, needless to say, is a huge time-waster, and super annoying.

It turns a 2-second job into a several-minute job, and if I hit "enter" without holding shift even once while editing a blog post, even if I change it back into a shift-enter, it'll add the extra spacing into the space between the next two paragraphs, and the extra spacing won't go away until I've manually reformatted EVERY paragraph below the affected paragraph. SO annoying.

It would also be great if it could preserve the original formatting when I copy and paste from another application. I formatted things the way I did for a reason, and I don't like it when a program overrides my formatting.

Is there a way to do this? If so, it would save me a LOT of wasted time.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Stephanie!

I have a suggestion that could make your life easier in the meantime, since we still have to look into this issue a lot further:

Try copy-pasting the text into Notepad before pasting it directly into the AllProWebTools WYSIWYG editor. It usually shows you where the weird formatting is and you can adjust it a lot easier before pasting the final copy into your webpage!

Alternatively, you can use a text fixer website like this one that can help you automatically remove a lot of line spacing in just a couple of clicks.

I know it's not a permanent solution to your issue, but I really hope it'll make your life easier in the interim!
Let me know if that helps!

Thanks, Elijah. They website fixer works nicely, as long as I press space in the blank line between each paragraph. Otherwise, AllProWebTools's site builder ignores their spacing and replaces it with the kind of spacing where there's a small gap between paragraphs, but if you hit the down arrow, the cursor goes straight from one line to the other, without there being a blank line in between.

I would love it if there was a way to change the default spacing to the same kind that posts in this forum use, so I don't have to do anything fancy to keep it from overriding my spacing.

Thank you so much.

I know the spacing issue can be cumbersome, personally, especially when writing blogs.

I totally agree with you, so you know I'll be pushing for improvements to be made when it's feasible! Until then I've just formed a habit of pressing space once or twice whenever I create a new line I want to leave blank, that way the editor registers that there's something there and won't override you!

Sorry for the inconvenience, Stephanie!
