I think we wanted to verify that the person actually had a valid payment method. But I do not think it is a big deal, things with $0 deposit are typically very cheap. It would be fine to just let them submit the order without requiring payment info.
Anyway I'll test now..

hit submit too quick. that's the same thing the customers are saying, and it only happens when the amount in the cart is zero, no items requiring payment.

The payment buttons on the checkout page are all there. I am stopped if I try to pay by paypal with a paypal page that says "cart is empty", and if I enter CC information it won't complete because the amount is zero.

I believe I have seen something similar to this before. The other two orders I see from Russia that were abandoned have "RUSSIA" (all caps) entered into the country. If you choose from the drop down you get to "Russia" and the shipping rates will work. I was running into this before where customers ...

Okay, I can kind of narrow this down. The customers seem to be able to enter "russian federation" as their shipping address. Shane sent the guy the invoice, he paid, inventory did not go down. He manually marked the inventory down in this case so we do not oversell this item (we only have one left.)

I'm actually not sure it has since we made the change to Paypal for direct CC entry. Shane has been using Paypal virtual terminal for CC entry (horribly slow.)
I recall when we first switched over to Paypal CC entry, the front end did the same thing, but you guys fixed that.

More specifically, there is a level of automation in adwords that we will be using, where google determines when/if to display ads based on the revenue they are generating. Obviously that won't work if the information resides only in APWT.

yes, it is verified that no transaction occurred. You can see on those voided transactions that there is no Paypal transaction ID. The customer was allowed to checkout from the website, with an order being created and marked as paid in the backend, but without any actual transaction happening. There is another thread on this somewhere from at least two other orders doing this. Couldn't find it tho

Please run through and see how many times this has happened so far. It looks like on this one Shane voided and had the customer keep trying to pay until it went through. Although he may have entered CC info on the backend. I will verify when he gets into the office today.
