I am reaching out to Authorize.net regarding this issue as well.
Over the past 2 weeks or so when a member joins as a new or renewing member, their credit card is charged because that is the method they used, and then the very next day their credit card is once again charged for the same amount. This has happened to at least 4 people over the past 2 weeks and even a few more. I have to go in and issue a refund for the second charge. It's like someone or something is going in and causing or triggering a second charge to be placed on their credit card the next day.
Examples: Michael Williams - Signed up as a renewal member - Order #3141 for $55 on 4/4/23. His card was then charged again early this morning, Order #3142 on 4/5/23. I now have to issue another refund.
Pamala Carter - Signed up as a renewing member - Order #3117 for $55 on 3/22/23. Her card was then charged again on 3/23/23, Order #3118 for $55. I had to issue a refund.
Amanda DiVito Parle - Signed up as a new member, Order #3114 for $55 on 3/21/23. Her card was then charged again on 3/22/23, Order #3115 for $55. I had to issue a refund.
Larry Fullerton - Signed up as a renewing member, Order #3111 for $55 on 3/20/23. His card was then charged again on 3/21/23, Order #3113 for $55. I had to issue a refund.
If you could see if there is something that is triggering this to happen, I would greatly appreciate it. Yes, I am reaching out to Authorize.net to see what they say.

I have just gotten off the phone with Authorize.net. They said everything is working fine on their end. They basically follow what the website tells Authorize.net what to do and talk to the host. They think something may be wrong with the shopping cart that might need to be updated or fixed. Can you please look into this? Thank you.

Your account has just been upgraded from version 5.73 to 5.75.
Please logout and back in to apply the new version.
It is possible that this new version will address the issue, if you continue to have problems, please post again in this forum thread. - AllPro Provider

From the 2 invoices that you have presented, I have found the following information:
Invoice 1986 was charged on April 22 2019
Invoice 3148 was charged on April 12 2023 (4 years later)
The notes on this customer's account indicate that your staff was working on his account on April 11:
Further, it appears that the customer was sent an email containing his invoice #1986 on April 11. The customer than logged into his account to pay the old invoice on April 11 as shown here:
The effect of this was to pay his old outstanding invoice and also to re-activate his paid membership. You will notice the green slide switch Labeled "Status" is set to "Active". This means the annual paid membership is active and should be charged each year. For this reason, the system automatically created an invoice and charged his credit card on file the following day - April 12.
You can view this report by going to "Reports" on the main menu and then selecting "Sales" and then "Memberships".
On this page you can also view all of your active recurring memberships (and when they will be charged next)
From what I can see, the system is working as designed. I will be happy to provide you with additional instructions if you can provide additional information if this behavior is not congruent with your business policies.

You can view the list of active memberships that will be charged next by going to the 'Reports' (1) > 'Sales' (2) > 'Memberships' (3)
On this page, you can go ahead and click on where it says 'Membership Report' in green color.
Now, if you want to view only the list of active members, please click on the 'Show only Active Memberships' button.
You can use each of the filter tools to sort the list of memberships you're looking for.
Clicking on the up/down arrow icon for the 'Next Charge' column allows you to see when and which CRMs going to get charge next.
