Greetings,
I noticed an issue with several websites and now I just keep correcting each time whenever I noticed. This needs permanent fixation and I just realized what actually is causing this.
Issue: Dictionary links add automatically even to alternative text for images.
Example:
I have an image with an alternative text "Melbourne commercial soft washing" and also I have the "soft washing" keyword in my Dictionary list. Which is breaking code by adding a link for soft washing even inside the image tag.
I wrote and saved:
<a href="https://beaconcleaningfl.com/commercial ... ing/"><img src="/content/uploads/Commercial/Services/Melbourne-commercial-soft-washing.png" style="display: block; margin: 0 auto;" class="img-responsive" alt="Melbourne commercial soft washing" /></a>
Result after saving:
<a href="https://beaconcleaningfl.com/commercial ... ing/"><img src="/content/uploads/Commercial/Services/Melbourne-commercial-soft-washing.png" style="display: block; margin: 0 auto;" class="img-responsive" alt="Melbourne commercial <a href=">soft washing</a>">
This is quite urgent. Please fix it asap!
Thank you.

The Dictionary System was intentionally designed to be case sensitive. This means that if you create a dictionary term as "soft washing" it will not match any of the following:
We recommend that you turn off the dictionary so that all terms are changed back to plain text on the website. Then you can change the capitalization in the ares that you do not want to be affected by the Dictionary. When you have finished you can turn the dictionary system back on .

Re: Dictionary links adding automatically even to alternative text for images
Greetings,
I understand, however, we can not make the dictionary terms to be limited to one standard like capitalizing "Soft Washing" or lowercases "soft washing". We want the Dictionary system to be flexible.
A permanent solution that I can suggest and see here is disallowing Dictionary terms to affect tag attributes. Why do not you just restrict dictionary terms to affect content, not tags?

I have read a few articles which says keep sentence format to the image description.

I believe restricting system to affect image description will be best/optimal solution to have proper results always.
We look forward to hear from you.

In order to keep SEO Score Good, we are adding image descriptions and Google says we should add "image descriptions" in sentence format.
That is why the only solution we see here is the restricting system to affect image description.
please process.

This is really causing problems everywhere where we have added image descriptions. Below are live web pages that I noticed just now.

Re: Dictionary links adding automatically even to alternative text for images
While using the Dictionary System, It is important to avoid "over doing it". Your webpage can atually incur a penalty for "Keyword Stuffing". See this article: https://seranking.com/blog/keyword-stuffing/
For this reason, we recommend only assigning ONE capitalization for each key word, typically the version where the first letter is uppercase as this will usually be at the beginning of a sentence.
It is also important to remember that it can become annoying to the reader of your website if almost every word is a link. The Dictionary System is intended to be used sparingly, like sprinkling a small amount of salt on food.

Re: Dictionary links adding automatically even to alternative text for images
Dave, the problem we are having is with proper grammar. Beginning of sentences words should be capitalized, in the middle of a sentence, they should not be. Also, with nouns, we have an issue. "Lakeland pressure washing." Should be spelled with that capitalization no matter where it is used.
We do not have an issue with overusing words in our content nor are we trying to, however, the system should be simple enough to not demand extraneous time from a copywriter. However, we can deal with the capitalization issue as is. The main issue is when the dictionary system is pulling the dictionary terms from image tags and making them visible over the image. As you should be able to see in the images and link Trannum provided above.
I do not see why the dictionary system needs to recognize terms in image tags, when images can be linked otherwise to wherever is needed.

Re: Dictionary links adding automatically even to alternative text for images
The solution suggested to prevent image tag link insertion is to change the capitalization pattern so that it does not match the term defined in the dictionary.
Changing the image tag to: "Lakeland Pressure Washing" will result in image tags not getting a link insertion.

Re: Dictionary links adding automatically even to alternative text for images
We need to use "Lakeland Pressure Washing" as a dictionary term for proper grammar, but then that means we need to use "lakeland pressure washing" as an image text. Not propper grammar but fine I guess since it's not seen by anyone unless they are really looking. However then the confusion comes in because we would need to use "pressure washing" as a dictionary term, but that means it would have to be "Pressure Washing" for image tags. It can work but is convoluted and will be quickly and easily done incorrectly. Also now it means copywriters will have to spend an enormous amount of extra time on structuring sentences at the beginning or otherwise of a sentence, so terms are linked but the sentence still reads well.
Again to me the simple solution to most of these problems is just don't have the dictionary system recognize terms in images, I don't see why that is a needed or useful functionality.

Re: Dictionary links adding automatically even to alternative text for images
The proposed solution is not intended to hinder Copywriters from writing naturally. The proposed solution should ONLY affect how image tags are created, which is usually performed by the Web Developer or SEO person in the company and is already a manual and labor intensive process.
If using the capitalization pattern of "Lakeland Pressure Washing" in image tags does not work in your case, there are many other variations available such as "Lakeland Pressure WASHING". Using this capitalization pattern ONLY in image tags will provide the results you are looking for.
As this is hidden text that does not appear on the webpage (except for rare mouseovers), it should have minimal affect on human readers of your web page and Google does not take capitalization into consideration when scoring the SEO of your page.
