I would like to be able to set task for the future, much like setting a later date for an email to go out to a contact. So I would set the task to become active and show up on my task list later, not showing up at all until that date arrives or maybe showing up in its own section at the bottom listed as "future tasks" or something like that.

I have put in tasks for the future and then made their priority less than my current priorities so it shows up at the bottom of my "Everything Else" list. Then, as they come due, I can update their priority so they show at the top of my "Everything Else" list. Don't know if that will help you or not. :)
